Born in Kansas, home of the Screenland 5K themed Wizard of Oz, the father of Craig Knight loved to run in the sunflower state. Craig adopted his father’s love for fitness while earning a bachelor’s degree in economics from Northwestern University and master’s in real estate development from MIT. Western Hemisphere Marathon founder Syd Kronenthal, who is commemorated in the Screenland 5K, also graduated Northwestern.
Family obligations and a busy work schedule limit the times Knight can run the streets of the city and on trails to early mornings and very few weekends. “I treasure those precious moments when I can be alone running. It’s a great way to start a day,” said Knight. Knight’s 11 year old son sails. His five year old is as active as ever, and his wife is an Olympic-distance triathlete.
As Managing Director of Arixa Capital Advisors, LLC and co-founder of Vitruvian Development, Knight is working with the City of Culver City on a mixed-use project at the Surfas Restaurant Supply site, which borders Metro Culver City Station and will neighbor the Platform, Access Culver City and Ivy Substation projects.
“We want to have the right mix of business and residential to compliment the Transit Oriented Development plan that best serves the neighborhood and entire Culver City community,” said Knight.
